You Need to Get Things Right When You Are Advertising on Social Media

When you run any sort of business today, even one that is a bricks and mortar business, you need to have a presence online. Yes, you have a website because almost every business has a website, but there is a lot more to it than that. Social media advertising can be great, but it has to be done rightYou can undertake advertising on Google Ads and that can help to bring in a lot of business, but you need to spread your wings further and be on social media as well.

Now quite a number of people believe that spending time nattering on social media is time wasted, and they try not to get involved. However, billions of people – that’s with a “b” not an “m” – spend hours on social media and the simple fact is that when you run a business you have to go where the people are. You have to be seen.

This is why social media advertising is important for your business, but before you dive in head-first you need to make sure that you get it right. You can spend a small fortune on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, TikTok, Instagram, and all the rest of them, so it is critical that you do social media advertising right, and get the best bang for your buck, and that is where I come in.

I describe social media advertising as the art of throwing a party. Many of us have looked at YouTube videos or read posts on Facebook and Twitter, but that is showing up at the party. Throwing the party is setting up a Facebook (for example) fan page, keeping posts going on it, answering people’s questions, promoting it on other online sites, and measuring how well it performs.

You May Not Need To Be Everywhere

Now you need to be where the people are, but you may not need to be everywhere. There may be some social media sites which might not be a good fit for your business such as Reddit or TikTok. On the other hand they might be the best sites for you. There is no point spending time and/or money on social media advertising if it is not going to bring you in the desired results.

You also need to know what it is that you want visitors to do. Do you want them to go to your website? Do you want them to buy something? Do you want them to join your list? (You DO have a list, don’t you?).

Blogging is another great way to increase your reach. Running a blog can not only help you to reach customers directly but can also help with SEO to get your website to rank on Google.
