Well, my bags are packed, I’m ready to go, I’m leaving on a jet plane. This is just a quick little blog post about my upcoming workshop on search engine optimization for writers, photographers, and videographers.

SEO For PhotographersMany of the forward thinking intellectuals, so to speak, have realized that both search engine optimization and social media marketing are the wave of the future. This is why many of them have searched for the expertise found at an SEO Company. While book tours and lectures, and certainly personal networking, remain important, for today’s authors, photographers, or videographers, it is important to understand the rules of the “new” publicity game.

Photography and videography are in a very competitive industry. Although some people get married more than once or have big birthday parties, it’s unlikely that a photographer is going to have frequent repeat customers. This means there is a demand for SEO for photographers and videographers so that professionals can stay competitive and continue capturing people’s special days.

In my workshop at the Professional Outdoor Media Association show coming up in Springfield Missouri, I will be explaining the rules of the game for both hurt search engine optimization and social media marketing. To wit –

Search Engine Optimization

  • Defining Your Keywords. Identifying valuable keywords is the foundational point for SEO.
  • Understanding Page Tags. Even just a simple understanding of how page tags work, will do wonders for a blog or other type of personal website.
  • Basics of Link Building. Every SEO knows how important links are to successful SEO, and I will be teaching the basics.
  • Social Media and SEO. Google, and Bing, pay attention primarily to the inbound links, but they are beginning to pay more and more attention to your twitter or Google plus feeds.

Social Media Marketing

I will be talking especially about YouTube, and how to optimize YouTube videos for search. I will also be doing a workshop on personal branding, of which social media is a huge component.

I’m very excited to go to Springfield, and share my knowledge with writers, photographers, and videographers. And, remember, I always learn as much from my workshop participants as they learn from me!
