An advertising agency is a team of people, but when it comes to Google AdWords, you don’t need a San Francisco AdWords agency – just a San Francisco AdWords expert. Heck, it’s not even “Adwords” any more: Google have changed it to just Google Ads, but I am still an expert on how to exploit it for maximum profit and not pour money down the drain, which with Google Ads is very easy to do.
Search Engine Marketing, or SEM as it is known, is the art of placing ads on the search engines and making money from it. The first part is easy: placing ads. Anyone can do that. It’s the second part that is hard. Making money.
This is not like placing an ad in the local paper. There, you just pay for the advertising space and that’s it. You could still make no money, even though 1,000 people came to your website, but with Google Ads you are paying for EVERY click. So you could have an ad which many people responded to even though they had no interest in your product, but your ad just made them curious. Very few people will respond to an ad in the paper if they are only curious but clicking on a link costs nothing and takes a second to do. What’s more, the average cost per click is between $1 and $2, with the high end up at around $50, which depends on what you are advertising.
In the local paper, it doesn’t matter what you are selling. You are paying for the space. You are also paying for the space on Google, but they make you pay more if you have a high-end product. So the more profit they think you will make, the more they make you pay. And you either pay it, or your ad doesn’t get shown.
Tricky To Figure Out is Google Ads
All of which is very tricky to figure out if you don’t know what you are doing. And no – you don’t need a San Francisco Adwords agency, just an expert – and that’s me.
If you get it right, Google Ads works, and works very well. Amazon spent just over $450 million on Google Adwords in 2017 (https://www.digitalcommerce360.com/2018/04/12/inside-amazons-digital-marketing-strategy/) and they seem to know what they are doing.
I am not a San Francisco AdWords agency, just an expert who can help you to get your Google Ads campaigns right – and that means profitable. I can figure out the best keywords or you to use, and the best bidding strategy. It’s NOT just as simple as making a very high bid. There’s a lot more to it as well, such as quality score, your landing page, and so on, which all has to be taken into account.
